How are your fitness goals holding up this summer?

If you've found yourself slipping with workouts or indulging a bit too much, don't worry – you're not alone. It's common to face challenges during the summer months, but the good news is there's still plenty of time to get back on track.

Summer can be a tricky time for maintaining fitness routines. With vacations, social events and kids at home, it's easy to let exercise and healthy eating slide. But instead of beating yourself up, view this as an opportunity for a summer reset. Acknowledge any setbacks and use them as motivation to refocus on your goals.

It's tempting to come up with reasons why you can't stick to your fitness plan. You might tell yourself that the kids being home disrupts your schedule, or that you'll get back to it once school starts. However, these are just stories we tell ourselves. The reality is, you have control over your time and health.

The key to getting back on track is to start small. Commit to doing one thing today that moves you closer to your goals. It could be a 10-minute walk, a quick home workout, or preparing a healthy meal. Then, do something similar tomorrow. These small, consistent actions will add up over time, helping you regain momentum.

It’s important to plan ahead when trying to overcome obstacles. If your schedule is hectic, find pockets of time for exercise, even if it's just 15 minutes. Consider involving your family in physical activities, like bike rides or hikes, to make it more fun and inclusive. Preparing meals in advance can also help you stay on track with healthy eating.

Remember, the goal isn't perfection but progress. Celebrate your small victories and don't get discouraged by occasional slip-ups. Each step you take towards a healthier lifestyle is a win, no matter how small it may seem.

Keep up the good work,

Coach Lu
