As I was getting ready to speak at the Food Indepdence Summit up in North East Ohio last week, I received a funny text from a friend.

"Check this out."

Since Joel was also at the event, I showed this to him and others and we shared a good chuckle. Back yard flocks could destroy the entire industrial farming system?

Please, Lord, make it so! If only such a thing were possible!

This is one of those, "its funny but it isn't" moments.

Whether it is RFID for every cow in the country, or stopping bird flu by shutting down every backyard flock from the Pacific to the Panhandle of Florida, these folks are sadly... serious.

They seriously think that safe food can only come from factories... factory fields, farms, and factory factories...

That is why we need to have a good laugh, but also take seriously the need to protect our farmers, homesteaders, and right to food. Seriously enough that we will happily disobey when this nonsense comes to our state, county, city, or backyard...
