The weather outside is frightful...

Jan 11, 2024 9:33 pm

Moving animals. Stocking up on firewood.

Preparing for possibly losing water.

Bedding down animals.

Bringing all the plants inside (that we have space for, that is...)

This week looks to be pretty challenging across a fair bit of the US weather wise.

But in the midst of that we are also... starting seeds.

Planning garden spaces.

Cleaning the shelves and trays.

Checking the grow lights.

Making sure we have all everything we hope to grow.

And planning to catch some of the talks from Rogue Food's three time speaker Michael Kilpatrick's gardening summit this weekend.

(PS... he will be joining us again at Polyface May 17th and 18th for the great PMA debate we are hoping to have...)

Michael has presented at Rogue on PMAs and on building profitable farm and homestead based businesses. An alumnus of Polyface's intern program, Michael has built multiple successful farm and homestead businesses in two states, won an important local political office in his county, and helped countless farmers and homesteaders across the country.

He also puts on online summits that let you catch great talks from the comfort of your own home. So if you want to get a head start on garden ideas for spring and improve your growing game this year, despite the weather this week, you can snag a spot to the summit here.

So hope you all make it through the weather well and in good order, and use the down time wisely to plan for a great 2024 gardening and animal growing!
