I'm happy for my brothers, really, but I'm not cut out for that kind of life: Living in town, running a business, settling down with a woman and filling her up with my babies.

I'm content up here in my cabin, living off the grid and keeping busy with my animals.

Until I meet a woman who really gets my goat. Literally.

Violet's a vision in a sundress and sandals when she finds me out in the field to ask if Alfred belongs to me.

Then the runaway goat I come across has me braving the long dirt driveway with its intimidating "no trespassing" signs on a search for the owner. Who turns out to be a man so rugged I could swear he's carved from the rocks themselves. 

Cypress McAllister is all mountain man, complete with off grid cabin, an aversion to people, and wounds deeper than my own. One look and I know I would happily stay on his mountain with him forever if only he wanted me that way. 

I'm ready to take my broken heart and part ways with my new friends and family here on the ridge when Cypress surprises us all by showing up and staking his claim-- on me.

What's Roxie up this week? Well, the office looks like this:

I get to hike up a hill with my camp chair, computer, and snacks if I need to communicate with the outside world-- or load my Kindle app with new books!

What I have discovered though, is that wasps LOVE a hot pink camp chair! Fortunately, they're much more interested in the chair than in me! But I get lots of exercise every time I jump up and run away to let them investigate!

I'll be moving on again next week. So I can't wait to see what the next office will look like!
