Oh boy, guys. This nomad life isn't like my fave Youtubers make it look!

I shouldn't be surprised, they put a lot of effort (and budget) into making sure they have reliable internet access.

Me? I'm wandering around the American west like it's the 90s-- I've got a cell phone, but I don't expect it to work all the time.

I was getting by from this current spot, pretty danged impressed with myself for figuring out how to do ALL THE THINGS on the phone, because my signal isn't strong enough to hotspot to the laptop. Ugh!

And then? There was a really cool thunderstorm! (I have a serious love for thunderstorms, bordering on a fetish. It's a wonder I'm not a storm chaser.)

Well, I was enjoying the thunder and lightning while I composed my new release newsletters and then... The internet was gone. Phone signal-- gone.

I thought it would come back when the weather cleared up, but no luck.

So this afternoon I had to take a field trip to find signal. Here it is! (About 6 miles down the highway from my current camp spot.)

I'm excited to get Cypress and Violet's story out soon! From a location with better internet!

Didn't catch any lightning, but it was pretty darn dark!

(Fun fact: the legendary Area 51 is on the other side of the hills below that wall of darkness!)
