Spring Fever and A Progress Report

Warning: there's been wine.
Disclaimer: I actually write these emails late Wednesday night and schedule them to send on Thursday morning-- I have not been drinking at five a.m. It hasn't been that kind of day!
The weather quickly went from running the heater to leaving all the windows open (no worries, cold weather is scheduled to be back soon.) As the temps warmed and the sun came out, I got hit with a truly serious case of spring fever.
I've spent the last few days shoveling gravel out of the yard in order to start a landscaping project in the front, and a patio project in the back, where the hobo house camper trailer gets a permanent parking spot. (By "permanent," I mean the trailer will always have a place to roost when it comes home...by no means am I planning on staying in one place forever.)
Naturally, I started shoveling rocks (the entire property is covered in landscaping rocks) in 80 degree weather (Fahrenheit, folks!) just in time for the bathroom remodel to start-- so there's no hope of a shower in sight.
It's been a heck of a week!
The awesome news is that that I'm also putting in some quality time in the writing cave and making some great progress on Archer Dean and Callie's book.
There has been occasional cackling. The neighbors have started to check on me.
Tonight, I put a small hole in the pad of my forefinger while putting together a planter. No worries-- it's a small hole. And I'm up-to-date on my tetanus shot.
I can still type.
But I am making slow progress on the second glass of wine that bestie poured for me in gratitude for my voluntary chain-gang-esque rock shoveling and planter injury.
Okay! That's a lot of personal story before getting to the book stuff. Wine. Sorry/not sorry.
What I'm so excited to share is that I have a blurb for Archer and Callie!
Archer Dean O'Leary
Callie might be off-limits but ever since she came home from college, I've been obsessed.
My buddy doesn't seem to notice that his baby sister's all grown up now, though. He's still trying to shield her from getting hurt, making sure any boy who shows an interest in her knows better than to get too close.
Turns out, Callie isn't looking for a boy, she's been waiting for a man and when I find out that man is me, I'll risk my friendship and my family's ranch to claim her.
Because I don't see my best friend's little sister when I look at Callie's curvy figure, all I see is the woman who's meant to be my wife.
Now that's what I'm talking about! I'm having so much fun writing this new book. I can't wait till it's done!
Right now, I am literally waiting on our drywall guy at ten p.m. because we are desperate to get the shower back in business!
I will be back next week with more news on The Cowboy's Off-Limits Option-- hopefully "more news" will include a pre-order link. (crosses fingers)
And also hopefully, we'll have a working shower by then as well. (double crosses fingers.)
