The O'Leary's were so much fun to write! But now that the first family of the big 5 Slow River Valley Ranches has been wrapped up, I'll be heading back up to Moonshine Ridge for the next few books to deal with some lonely lumberjacks up there.

Then the plan is to head back into the valley and meet the Savage boys of the U&U Ranch. (Briefly mentioned in The Cowboy's Temporary Solution.) So hang tight.

Here in Fallon, NV, it's way too dang hot, and I have one more thing to get crossed of the to-do list before I hitch up the hobo house and head out.

I sat on the front porch this evening (that's "last night" by the time you get this,) and watched the rodeo roll out of town. The house is on a major road, not far from the Rafter 3C Arena where the PRCA rodeo has been bucking, broncing, roping, and riding for the last two days.

I actually missed it, due to the "crossing things off the to-do list" chores, and it was a little sad to watch all the fancy livestock trailers rolling by.

Maybe next year.

I'll be missing the big Reno Rodeo this year as well-- I expected to be in another state by now, so I didn't make plans for it.

I should be farther north this time next week, we'll see if I'm in Nevada, Idaho, or Oregon, but wherever I am-- I hope to have internet...and that it's not a hundred degrees. (Fahrenheit, that is.)
