That In-Between Books Lost Author Feeling

For the record: The next new release is on the calendar for November 5.

It isn't even started yet. I have no idea what I'm doing.

But it will be a sort of mountain man, military, private security kind of series featuring the men in Harlan Frost's team that were sort of introduced through the last two Moonshine Ridge Lumberjacks books.

It's currently in that nebulous "it's all in there" state inside my brain while I wait for the characters to start getting chatty.

Mostly, right now, I have a room full of jacked, sexy, ex-military guys with cropped hair and clean jaws glaring at me. When I told them I needed to get back into Slow River Valley to deal with more ranchers they were not having it.

They just keep waving their hands impatiently at the Murdock brothers and saying, "You gave those guys happy endings!"

To which, I replied that maybe we could say "happily ever afters" instead of "happy endings." (Not that author would mind, exactly.)

It looks a little bit like this:

But you can see that these guys are not letting me get out of this easily.

So, it looks like we're going to be meeting Harlan's crew.

FTR: My BFFs are thrilled with the military guys.

Me? I like my men with longer hair and full beards and definitely not wearing uniforms.

I'm very curious about where this crew will take us.

The nomad life has been rainy. Which means the roof has been leaky. One more thing to put on the to-do list when I get back to home base.

It's getting cold in the southern Oregon forests and I'm ready to for some home base time again.

(A savvy author would totally drop a link to something to read here. But it's late and I'm hungry. If you have military/security romance recommendations-- send them my way!)
