The worst part of it is-- I was really into Gunner and Clem's story.

Unfortunately, I have to do some hard adulting for a minute, and I'm having a hard time switching between the fun little cowboy instalove story with the two snarky, grumpy enemies that don't even want to be enemies...and the overwhelming task of being an only child responsible for taking care of my last parent's final arrangements.

Naturally, Mom never got around to putting together that binder of important papers and passwords that I'd been asking her for for literally decades. (I have an unusually pragmatic outlook on the subject, yes.)

So I'm spending my holiday season playing detective with Mom's finances.

I can't tell you how much I'd rather be writing cutesy, steamy, romance books right now.

Now that I've brought the mood down on this week's email-- let's back to talking about cutesy, steamy, romance books!

I'm still writing through the other stuff, I'm just writing slower. I'm no longer confident that the first of the Slow River Valley Ranchers is going to beat Santa, but it's on the way.

I am so ready to put this year behind me.
