After scrambling to avoid several disasters last week: more cloudy days than my current power set up can handle, finding camping with electrical hookups on a holiday weekend, and making the hard deadline to get Calvin and Penny's story uploaded in time to make Amazon's pre-order window-- I gave myself a little extra time for Clinton and Natalie's story.

Ideally, this means I also have some time to explore the Olympic peninsula while I'm calling it home for the next couple of weeks.

Some people have chided me for not enthusiastically looking forward arriving in Forks, WA on dates that coincide with the upcoming Twilight Festival (I can't believe Twilight is 20 years old!) but-- confession time: I've never read nor seen Twilight.

I have a few friends who were deep into the series, and they were kind enough (translated: insisted on) walking me through the story. But I'm actually old enough to be of the "my vampires don't sparkle" generation.

I will also going through Astoria, Oregon on this trip-- remember when I said I was old? I'm excited to finally get to visit the Goondocks. IYKYK
