I really thought that if I just waited one more day before putting together this week's email, that I might actually have a new release announcement-- that was two days ago.

I'm so close, guys! I got through the really hard middle part where I always get hung up on a book, then I pushed through that to the part where I look at my word count and think, "Holy crap! This book is going to run so much longer than my usual length! This is never going to get finished!" Then I pushed through that and now I'm on the tail end where everything is coming together and it looks like Hunter and Carissa are actually going to get over themselves...and this book will come in right on target for my usual length.

In about two thousand more words. Maybe three.

This is how it goes every single time.

You'd think I'd be used to it by now.

So there's the update-- The next Match-maker book is just about wrapped up, and I can't wait to get started on the next project, which is going to be something new and fun. I'll tell you all about it after I get A Promising Beginning cleared off the to-do list!

Welcome to this week's view from the office!

I'm cat-sitting for friends while they are on vacation, because Ms. Abominable Snow Princess here is a high-anxiety, needy little floof and my friends were worried about leaving her alone.

She's a polydactyl with seven to eight toes on each foot. Which means that when she jumps in my lap and demands attention-- she gets it! That's too many claws to ignore.

The irony of the job is that their Roomba has needed more watching after than the cat!

My friends left me with a fridge full of food in exchange for spending my week covered in cat hair and playing hide and seek with Roomba (usually stuck behind a door-- tried to eat a cat toy this morning,) including a full dozen organic, cage-free brown eggs! Officially making this cat sitting gig the highest paying job I've ever had!

Unfortunately, kitty is used to morning people so she's not keen on me still being at the keyboard at one in the morning and I'm not keen on her waking me up four hours later.

Speaking of which, she informs me that I am up past bedtime now so I guess I'm not getting another chapter done tonight after all.
