Great News for Fans of the Match-Maker/Raven Swann Series!
Oct 24, 2024 12:01 pm
First thing first:
All 15 of the Match-Maker books are BACK IN KU
But only for a limited time! (till January 21st.)
The compilation sets are not back in KU. The third volume is still being formatted (I'd really hoped to have a pre-order link for that today, but it just isn't done yet.)
The books are getting new edits and formatting, and new covers as well:
Updating the series has been a project on the Master To-Do List for a very long time, and I found myself idly working on the edits last week when my WIP was refusing to co-operate.
Naturally, focusing on anything that isn't writing something new results in a bunch of imaginary characters demanding my attention: because characters are like cats.
Not only does Ranger suddenly want his book finished, but his brothers are all pushing and shoving to be next in line. (Gunner, man...he's something else. I can't wait for his story!)
There are new mountain men grumbling about spending long, cold winters alone while I ignore them for ranchers down in the valley.
And-- yes. Great news for the Raven Swann fans: she has reluctantly allowed her assistant to talk her into doing a new project. And that means a new match-maker series...and, just maybe, it's time that Raven's assistant, Jessica, found a match of her own!
When are these new match-maker books coming?
Well...let me finish these cowboys and then I'll work it out with the calendar and get back to you.
If you haven't read the match-maker books yet, they aren't quite insta-love, but they are pretty low drama. They're all stand-alones, so you can jump into the series in any order that suits you.
You can always start with the first one, A Perfect Gentleman, and see where my career as Rocklyn started, but, as someone who has just read 6 of the 15 books carefully and thoroughly to approve edits-- I can tell you that the last one, A Promising Beginning, is actually one of the best and deserves way more love than it got on its release back in early 2023.
I suspect that the font on the original cover (right) had a lot to do with that.
Here's a new vs old cover shot:
The plan...eventually...is to offer the Match-Maker series for sale on storefronts outside of Amazon. So they won't be back in KU forever.
Fun Fact: I once spent an hour commiserating with a fellow author about typos. She was a much bigger-- but clean and wholesome-- indie who put every one of her manuscripts through five sets of proofing & editing eyes before publishing. We spent that hour discussing how the typos still manage to sneak through.
I'm sure that the new edits still have errors in them, hopefully just not the same errors.
Let me know what you think of the new covers! Reactions have been mixed among my inner circle, so far.

Tomorrow: back to Slow River Valley!
