BFF told me at least seven times yesterday that it was January 4th. She kept saying it like, "It's only the fourth" but all I heard was "HOLY CRAP! JANUARY IS ALREADY OVER!"

Then I promptly had a meltdown and had to find a paper bag to breathe into for awhile.

OK...maybe I'm being a tad dramatic, but seriously, it really does feel like the new year is already slipping through my fingers at a worrisome rate.

So I had the Insta-cart-- or maybe Door Dash, I can't keep them straight-- people bring me some Fritos and more diet Pepsi and I locked myself into the little room I've claimed as my office while we're here in Washington DC and I've been hard at work on A Promising Beginning ever since.

New Year's resolutions? I'm just hoping to get back on a consistent writing schedule and share all the voices that have been vying for attention in my head with you finally.

With smoldering, man-candy covers apparently! LOL, I have not been hearing a lot of love for the illustrated cover trend! Sounds like most of y'all are on team BFF with strong preferences for covers that still show off some good looking men.

Got it! I'll see what I can do.

My other big goal for 2023 is to consolidate those two laptops you see in the picture into one, up-to-date Macbook pro. I never thought I would prefer the Mac to the PC so when I picked up my Macbook Air, several years ago now, for the sake of a couple of writing-related apps that are Mac-only, I didn't put much (any) effort into investing in a machine that would stand the test of time (128gb of storage? What was I thinking?)

Toting two laptops around isn't something I recommend.

Keep an eye out for the next email-- it's almost definitely probably most likely to contain a new release announcement...maybe probably. (Checks Fritos bag...I'm going to need more junk food.)
