Taking it back to Moonshine Ridge today, to remind you of the Jones brothers.

About this time of year, those crazy river rats are getting ready for the rafting season-- probably strapping on life vests and helmets and racing each other down the river while the rapids are high and icy from the high elevation snow melt.

Those boys are insane...and were lovingly modeled after two of my real-life surfer/river bum favorite men.

If you haven't read them yet, or don't have a permanent spot in your Kindle library dedicated to their books-- Retreat to the Mountain is all kinds of FREE for the next few days as a blatant bribe to get you to click the link and check out the Mountain Man May promo over on Bookfunnel.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Actually, Lance O'Leary's book isn't taken place on the ranch-- his brothers insisted he was the one who had to represent the Delta O at this year's farm and ranch expo the next valley over.

Lance thinks this is stupid, since all his brothers have girls of their own now-- it would make more sense if one of the guys that has a built-in date made the out-of-town trip.

And his mom claims she has "important stuff" to get done that weekend, so he should ask his best friend.

One little hitch-- Lance is madly in love with his best friend and he's certain of two things:

  1. Mercy Jean does not think of him the same way at all.
  2. A weekend out of town with Mercy will kill him.

I'm having so much fun with this one! I can't wait till I can share Lance and Mercy's story with you!

Over here in real life...

We are down to one more room left to remodel! The front bathroom is getting tiled this week. Then we will re-install the toilet (we really miss having two bathrooms,) and figure out how we are going to install the live edge, floating vanity...it exists in BFF's brain but no one is quite sure how to translate that to real life yet...and then she will finally get to order the claw foot, slipper tub that she's been salivating over for almost eight months now.

Difficulty? The front bathroom isn't really a rectangle. The back wall is two inches wider than the front wall-- and that has made laying out the tile... um. Challenging, let's say.

Helping with the tiling is a good distraction when the story won't flow, and writing the story is a good way of avoiding helping with the tiling. It's a sort of win/win mobius strip.
