Look what I own!

I have to admit, I never thought I'd be so excited about owning a giant, metal box. And I don't know how this thing looks so much bigger than my camp-neighbor's 40 foot RV with all the fancy slide outs-- the shipping container is about the same size.

But I own a 40 foot "high cube" shipping container, and now I have to figure out what to do with it. (Finally stop paying rent on a storage unit in the home town that I never visit any more... and probably have way too much fun converting half of it into a studio apartment slash PROPER writing cave!)

But WE NEED TO TALK about the kid that delivered this beast! (If this email editor supported emojis, you'd have six lines of little hot, sweaty faces now.)

First off-- IRL, I am an old lady. So when I say "kid," he was probably in in his late 20s. (I'm not so old I wouldn't... ahem. What was I saying?)

He shows up pulling that 40 foot sea can on a massive tilt-bed trailer hooked up to his personal pick-up truck.

He jumps out of the cab and saunters-- yes, saunters, the nerve of the guy!-- over to me and shakes my hand all polite-like and calls me "ma'am." With his tight t-shirt molded to his sculpted chest, and his worn jeans slung low on his hips, and the clipped toes of very well-worn cowboy boots peeking out from under the scrunched-up cuffs of those jeans that fit just right.

Then he proceeds to back this thing up like it's no big deal, and then, he gets back out of the truck and unloads this thing with some serious BDE... if you know what I mean.

Was I melting in a pool of entirely inappropriate interest, trying to act nonchalant?

OMG yes. Yes, I was.

Do I have new plans for getting back to work on those Slow River Valley Ranchers? (drools in cowboy) So many book boyfriends, so little time... (wistful sigh.)

Speaking of book boyfriends in jeans and cowboy boots with serious big dick energy-- Meet Redd Davies from A Great Catch, another fan-fave from the Match Maker series and one of my personal faves as well.

He's a very successful Nebraskan cattle rancher who hires a match-maker to find him a wife... except his bride-to-be shows up much younger, much prettier, and much more innocent than he'd been expecting.

Redd and Olivia are still one of my favorite couples that I've ever written. I love how flustered this gruff, older, cowboy gets over the woman he gets matched with.

A Great Catch can be found in the store or over on Amazon, it's also one of the books currently available in paperback from Amazon. (The Match Maker books will eventually be available on other retailers as well-- I just haven't gotten around to it yet.)

After promising the shipping container that I'd be back in the fall, I'm back in Fallon to chip away several more things on the Master To-Do List-- including lots of author-y things.

Google Maps took me on a tour of Phoenix traffic despite having specifically planned a route to avoid that, which added four full hours to my first day of drive time. I got in late last night feeling like road kill. And that's why you get this week's several hours later than usual.

Opt out of Receving Emails

You get my emails because you opted into my list at some point-- you were probably bribed with a free book or a bonus scene, no lie, I'm cagey like that-- but you stay because my emails are way more fun than the average author email... or you can opt out and never hear from me again.

It'll only break my heart a little bit.
