Still in the Writing Cave but Here's an August Freebie!

Helpful tip: The laundromat in Ely, Nevada is fabulous. You know-- in case you ever find yourself in Ely, NV desperately in need of doing some laundry! Which I have. I was seriously over due. It was getting out of control.
In other news, I have survived yet another week of thunderstorms without actually getting struck by lightning. Although I do have a few screenshots from the lightning strike map that would lead you to think otherwise.
(It's not as bad as it looks! The blue dot is me, the red dot is the most recent lightning strike within 10 miles of me, the yellow is lightning detected in my area. Fortunately, they make the blue dot REALLY big!)
And still no photos of lightning. Not even once I moved to a safer location and set up the camera with hopes of capturing the show from a distance.
But I had a few seriously amazing sunsets!
Three days, three sunsets. And some inspiration for the upcoming cowboy series-- "Wait, Roxie, what? Cowboys?!" Yeah, yeah, yeah...talk to me in 2024!
Meanwhile, back in the writing cave:
River and Cinnamon's story is coming along well. It's way past the date I'd initially expected to release it by-- I thought I'd be about halfway through the Diaz clan by now, to be honest.
No worries-- the Diazes are still on the way (Much more growly, mountain mannish, those boys!) and River and Cinnamon are telling me they'll be ready to wrap things up this weekend.
While you guys wait on River and Cinnamon, I've got another freebie for you for August! Enjoy!

August Antoni is hell-bent on working her way up to the boardroom in her family's company, and to do that she needs to convince the owner of Preston Ranch to sell it. Only problem is it'd be easier to see a miracle than for Jesse Preston to sign on the dotted line.
Strong and silent Jesse is determined to send August back to Chicago, but the stubborn woman won't take no for an answer. She is everywhere. At his ranch, sitting at his family dinner table, and pinned up against the the barn wall, and suddenly Jesse is the one who can't say no when August's beestung lips are on his.
And in a small town in a small amount of time, they'll fight for more than just a ranch.
