My Clever Subject Line Goes Here-- Obviously This is Not My Best Week
Jul 28, 2023 1:51 am
I think this has been the longest week of the entire year so far.
I had every intention of having another new release announcement for you this week, but that plan crashed and burned.
No worries! River and Cinnamon are getting their happily ever on and their story will be available soon. Just not on the schedule I'd hoped for.
But I do have a cover I can show you:
We're keeping things simple with the Moonshine Ridge books, I know. But the covers are still pretty sweet. IMHO.
That's my whole authorly update for the day...my brain is fried. At least the miserable heat wave broke-- where I am, at 7400 feet elevation somewhere on the east end of Nevada. My friends back in my home town are melting. Even the BFF in Tahoe says it's too darn hot there.
So what's got me frazzled and fried this week?
I'm camped in a sweet little spot of public land that happens to have great cell signal-- keeping me online without running up a tab at the not-as-nearby-anymore cafe.
Having constant connectivity when you've gotten used to the solitude and silence? Totally wrecking my zen, FTR.
But remember a few months back when I told you how much I love thunderstorms? This week has almost cured me.
I'm directly in the path of the weather patterns and every-- every-- afternoon I've spent at least an hour sitting cross-legged on my bed (the safest spot for me inside) with my phone in my hand opened up to the local lightning strike map while I pray.
I had lightning strike 264 feet from my campsite the other day. Yes, saw the flash. Yes, the thunder was so loud it felt like a jet crashing on the roof.
Yeah...I am moving!
But at least I can say that all the learning I've been doing about storm safety is finding a lot of use in River and Cinnamon's book!
I'll be back soon with that new release news. Promise!
