Hi, !
I've had some emotional moments this week as I wrap up Book 3 of the Bloodcaster Chronicles. I finished the first round of revisions, and I got all teary-eyed looking at my character art (see below) because they are so real to me! Especially now, as I'm at the end of their journey and seeing how much they've grown and progressed. Cora's character arc might be my favorite arc I've ever written. Her journey from assassin to hero is so inspiring and beautiful. I can't wait to share it with you! ❤️
What's next? Well, I've sent Book 3 off to beta readers now. My betas are fantastic and tend to catch plotholes and discrepancies that I can't see. Then, another round of revisions, send it to the editor, and then to ARC readers, and BOOM, I'm done! Trilogy #3 will be complete, and I'll throw myself a huge party to celebrate 😄

This week's tip is on Traditional Publishing!
So, you want to pursue publishing the traditional route? With literary agents and publishing contracts and sales in a bookstore? That's the dream, right?
Well, let me caution you. Statistically speaking, literary agents only accept 0.0001% of the manuscripts they get. Those odds are really slim. BUT if you're set on that path, then go for it! I explored that avenue, and I'm glad I did, because if I hadn't, I always would've wondered, "What if?"
So, let's say you've finished your novel. You've sent it to beta readers (do this!) and then revised and sent to beta readers again (no, seriously, DO THIS!). You've edited it with Grammarly or ProWritingAid or used a bona fide editor (doooooo thisssss). And now you think you're ready to send it out to the world and get yourself a literary agent!
First, you'll need to compose a query letter. Which is tougher than it seems. You'll need to condense your novel into a two- or three-paragraph sales pitch (usually about 250 words) that will make your agent thirsty for more. It's really hard to write a good hook, especially about your own work, so I'd recommend you find some critique groups on Facebook to help you make your pitch as perfect as it can be!
Tune in next week for Part 2.... 🙂
