Enemies to Lovers vs Forbidden Romance vs Fated Mates?

What's your favorite trope?

Enemies to lovers? Forbidden Romance? Fated Mates? Insta-Love? Love Triangle?

Of course, there are tons of tropes NOT related to romance, like the Chosen One, Reluctant Hero, Secret Royalty, Undiscovered Powers, etc.

Then, there's those more obscure ones that are less "tropes" and more "I really love this kind of thing." Like the "There's Only One Bed" problem in an enemies to lovers 😂😘 (think A Court of Mist and Fury). Or the "I've Been Sent to Kill You but I'm Actually Falling in Love with You" (which I'm working on now with the Bloodcaster Chronicles 😜).

I'll let you in on a little secret. When I decide what to write next, I pick a trope and run with it!

Timecaster Chronicles was Reluctant Hero with a splash of Love Triangle. Nightcaster Chronicles was Enemies to Lovers. Bloodcaster Chronicles (my current work-in-progress) is Forbidden Romance.

So next up, I'm going to try Enemies to Lovers (with "There's Only One Bed" 😉) meets Secret Royalty meets Marriage of Convenience (which I don't often see in fantasy, to be honest - except for Serpent & Dove).
