Hello!
Tomorrow is officially the first day of summer! It's my favorite season of the year.
I know some people prefer fall, and all I have to say to that is "Boo, hiss." Ha!
Anyway, I'm currently in Charlotte, NC for Heroes Con! Hence the newsletter is a day early. The fun starts tomorrow, but I drove up today to load in and set up. If you're in the area or planning to attend, swing by booth 627 to see me and a couple of my author friends.
I wrapped up fulfillment of my last Osnen Kickstarter, and I'm working on finalizing the campaign for the next volume. It'll launch July 8th, and I've included a link to the prelaunch page below.
Aside from that, I've been making progress, albeit not much, on my current book. I'm at a point where I need to figure out some plot details before moving the story forward, so that's slowed me down a bit. I'm not an outliner, which sometimes leads to this problem, but once I get the details squared away, the writing usually continues at my normal speed.
I've enjoyed the world building of this story immensely, and it's been fun coming up with the backstory or some stuff that probably won't end up in the book at all. It's more for my sake of how things should operate, but I'm curious for your opinions. Do you enjoy seeing the "behind the scenes" things that go into crafting the world? If so, maybe I'll include these lore items as bonus content or something!
This is another short newsletter as I don't have much else to share, so until the next one!
Below you'll find a promo for free ebooks, a Kobo Plus promo, and the link to my next Kickstarter!
What I’m reading: I've started reading A Breaking of Realms by Jasmine Young. I'm enjoying it so far.
What I’m watching: I watched the movie Plane over the weekend. It's an action flick featuring Gerard Butler. It was an entertaining film, but it was an average movie.
What are you reading/watching?
As always, a huge thank you for the support!
Richard
Fantasy and Sci-Fi on Kobo Plus!
If you're familiar with Amazon's Kindle Unlimited program, Kobo's is very similar, except they don't require their authors to be exclusive to the platform, which is great because putting your eggs all in one basket is never a good idea.
Anyway, there are loads of great books available to read, so go check them out. And if you don't have Kobo Plus, the good news is you can trial the service for 30 days for free!
In case you missed my last newsletter, this promo ends July 5th!
Just like the last 3 volumes, this one will have all the bells and whistles!
