Hello!
I'm on my way to Tupelo Mississippi today to setup for Tupelo Con this weekend. If you live in the area, I'd love to meet you in person. There are also some cool voice actors and other celebrities who will be there. It's going to be a fun time!
On the writing front, I have a short story in an anthology that launched on Kickstarter this week. The anthology is one I put together and I invite other authors I know to contribute. This anthology is probably my favorite so far, because it's about dragon riders!
Dragon Riders of Mirstone is a short story anthology featuring 13 stories from 13 authors. This is the fourth installment into the world of Mirstone, and the world just got much bigger! From stories about tiny folk who ride dragons to a vampire who drank a dragon's blood and became a thrall under her power, these stories all focus on the bond between a rider and their dragon.
I've been reading the ones that have been submitted so far, and I'm so excited to see this anthology come to life. This book will be exclusive to Kickstarter before hitting retail stores later on, so if you want to be one of the first to read these amazing stories, go check out the Kickstarter!
Below you'll find a free ebook promo, a massive dragon book promotion, and an author spotlight!
What I’m reading: I was going to start The Sword of Kaigan, but I decided to read Child of Fire by Austin Colton first. He asked me if I'd be willing to give him an author blurb for his upcoming omnibus edition, and I was more than happy to say yes. It's starts out well, and I'm looking forward to seeing where the story goes!
What I’m watching: I watched Damsel on Netflix. If you've been on my list a little while, you know I love all things dragon. What I've found with many Netflix movies (looking at you, Leave the World Behind), is they start really strong, but the ending is ends up being terrible. Not so with this one. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it!
What are you reading/watching?
As always, a huge thank you for the support!
Richard
Over 20 sci-fi specific books to choose from! This one runs until March 31!
Author Spotlight
One of my favorite authors (and a great friend!) has released a new book!
A stranger to Dragons’ Realm has entered through a world gate. A power-hungry stranger, intent on violence and destruction.
Commander Zens comes from a complex world with technology far greater than that in Dragons’ Realm. His armies of cloned tharuks raze villages, slaughtering folk and enslaving survivors. Even the Riders of Fire — dragon riders who protect the realm — are unable to stem the tide of Zens’ destruction.
As the death toll mounts, Tonio becomes spymaster. He vows to defeat Zens. Full of courage, intelligence and a steel will, Tonio comes up with a clever plan.
He never suspects the devastating price he’ll have to pay.
