Creative heroes

Hello ,

I swear every time I write an Anna story, my world gets that level more complex. Not because Anna's a heavy thinker (really, no), but because Anna loves heroes, and tends to know a lot about their stories, how they came about, how they use magic differently than other heroes.

One thing that sets the heroes apart from their military counterparts is the way in which they use their magic. The military is rigid: Wind magic is used for scouting, and earth magic is used for delay tactics and isolation (walls, ditches). Water magic is primarily support and fire magic...

Well, they don't use fire magic at all.

In the heroes though, many don't have enough to use it the same way every time, and so they need to be creative (which in turn means I need to be creative). And Anna, as a long-term Lookout watcher, knows all this as well as the whys behind their name.

So now, characters have backstories, and honestly, it's relatively interesting, and will likely cause me to write at least a million more novellas in this world. Do we want fifty hero origin stories? Probably not.... But Anna could write them!

Which brings me to my question of the week. Do you know of any cool ways to use elemental powers? I have a pile, but I can always use more. If you have a flash of inspiration, PLEASE, feel free to let me know :D

Book 4 delay:

It's only a month, so don't worry. Instead of releasing August 31, Book 4: Aftermath should be released on September 30. Unfortunately, editing has been delayed which has forced the date back. Apologies to all this has inconvenienced.
