Ready and Launched

Hello,

I have a book:

Origins (Undercity Heroes 1) by [Ren Blake]Well it's out. After months of going through the process of writing, editing, dealing with book cover drama (it was drama. If your ARC looks different than the current cover.... there was drama), this fun thing where apparently the text was an unreadable grey on physical kindles (everything you need to hear when launching a book). But finally, the book exists. It's even in KU, so if for whatever reason you missed out on the ARC, and have a membership, you can still check the book out for free!

Gratitude time:

See the source imageFirstly, thanks to all those people who have reviewed already. I had meant to have the paperback in stock for those who wanted to review early (it was all set up but for the cover) but that turned out not to be a thing. I appreciate those of you who took this in stride and posted on Goodreads, and am even more thankful to those who then copied their review across on Launch day. I really can't tell you how much it means to me.

Interesting Stuff:

But no one's here to listen to me gushing on about thanks, so let me get to the fun stuff. Book 2 is Anna's book and will be titled "Rebels". It's with my editor now (good luck editor!). I'm hoping to have it out in December, but considering the setbacks this book gave me, I'm making no promises anymore.

Book 3 is in process. It's Dennovan's book and will be titled "Battle". Again, I'm making no promises, but so long as my editor can keep up, I'm hoping to release it in February. Book 4 is actually already written, and so while it will require some editing and changes based on what happens in book 3 - so far it's sticking to the outline, but honestly you never know - I should have an easier time of it.

Now to what's coming:

If anyone actually made it to the end of the book (sometimes I wonder, okay?) you might have already seen what's coming for you next newsletter (unless I get distracted by NaNoWriMo). "A Day in Upper City" is a short story that didn't survive the first draft due to pacing issues. But... if you think Anna had passes to Upper City and DIDN'T convince Tia to ditch work and have fun, then you probably don't know Anna. The story's not entirely relevant to anything, but it should be a bit of fun for those who want more from the series.

So long for now!

-Ren, Author who is currently looking up how to hotwire a car (FOR STORY PURPOSES I SWEAR)

ps: Anyone want to take a stab at Tia's hero name? I thought I made it pretty obvious.
