Hey hey
Well we have one week till Halloween and so I like to a good scare as the other person and so I dove into my favorite horror author Stephen King. NOw this guy has written some of the most fascinating books I have ever come across. Yet there are a few that really stick to my mind. The Stand, The Shining, and Misery.
This last one is the one I wanted to talk to you about. Misery if you aren't familiar with the story is about an author who meets his biggest fan. It also turns out his biggest fan is a bit of a nut bar and she wasn't happy with his last novel.
Now one of the pivotal scenes in the book and the movie is when Annie Wilkes the Looney Fan finds out that the author Paul Sheldon is able to leave his room. So she hobbles him. Now she used the term Hobbling as a what people do to horses. Yet they don't lop a foot off and cauterize the wound with a blow torch! Then Busts the ankle of the other foot for good measure.
This got me thinking of you. How are you hobbling yourself? You may be doing something as drastic as how Annie hobbles Paul. Not so much literally but you are kicking the legs out from under your dream. How are you limiting your ability to have success? Are you resisting emotions? Are you indulging in Confusion or are you simply saying you're stuck?
