Today's Devotion - Feb 24th

The other day my dogs went wild in the middle off the day. I looked around the property and spotted a coyote in the distance. I generally grab a gun and fire a “Get out of here” shot. As I looked I noticed the coyote was hunting prairie dogs. It is one of those moments where I actually want the predator eating the prairie dogs.
It is so possible to go through your day and not recognize the dangers about you. Jesus tells us the fields are white unto harvest. As Christians, we can be oblivious to the wolves in the fields that are seeking to devour us. I believe there are individual strongholds in many people in our county. I believe there are many people against God in our county. The spiritual desert of Elbert County means that it will only be taken for God through serious effort by devoted Christians.
Just as Jesus sent out the 72, we are sent out to proclaim the kingdom of heaven. Some days it seems the kingdom is progressing, and other days it seems to be retreating. We are to be spiritually aware and clad in the armor of God. We live with two strong spiritual realities: The fields are white and there are wolves. One reality calls us to be active and the second reality calls us to be aware.
