Years ago my friend commented on being a servant of Jesus. He reminded me of how we feel ill used when we are actually treated as a servant. Servants serve. As I age the demands of servitude take more of my energy. Does that mean I don’t serve? No. It just means I serve more slowly.

Jesus talked about cloaks and miles when He spoke of serving. I am ashamed when I can’t think of the last time I went the extra mile or if I can’t remember helping someone in need. As we serve those inside and outside the church the world watches.

Paul links the attitude of serving with winning others to Christ. Is it possible to serve people into the Kingdom? Paul seems to indicate it is not only a possibility but a strong probability.
