Hi
Working with nutrition clients has made me realise that implementing the basics are not easy. Listen, even with my own nutrition, something as "simple" as increasing protein intake is not easy either. However, figuring out how to get the basics done boils down to a few key principles
- Planning for it. The same skills that you will use to plan a vacation (that's if you are the planner), will be the same skills you will need for your nutrition
- Knowing what foods will give you the most nutrients.
- Being aware of your eating patterns and preferences. If someone told me I must eat Bajan spinach, well miss me wid dat!
- Coming to grips that dieting DOES NOT work, especially now that you are older
- Stick to the basics that you learnt from kindergarten- drink your water, eat your veggies, eat quality protein, reduce sweet stuff. Block out the other "noise" around you.
- Consistency!
All of the above is simple but not easy to implement. Most times women eventually realise that they need help. If you are tired of trying to figure out things on your own, one on one nutrition coaching is the way. Every woman is different.
Lisa's goal might be to have more energy and get help cutting down on the sugar cravings. Kim's goal might be to reduce hot flashes. Janelle's goal might be to actually eat a full meal instead of eating whatever her daughter leaves back. Shontelle's goal might be to just improve on the amount of protein she is eating.
It varies and that's where my magic comes in. I help you based on where you are. I help you to reduce the stress of trying to figure out what to eat. It will take more than 6 weeks and it will be sustainable. So if this is something that you want to explore, reply "Explore"
If you want to start super basic, Banded Upgraded will have a nutrition guidance component. You can register at https://form.jotform.com/201414229557049
