That queen needs to be dethroned

Hi

As we continue to celebrate Women's Health Month, there is one queen that need to be dethroned, especially now that you are in the perimenopause phase.

That queen is the Cardio Queen. I was never a person to do copious amounts of cardio and I know that it has been the mainstream way for women to lose weight. Spending 1 to 2 hours on a threadmill or elliptical or bike then sprinkling in some light weight training is DEFINITELY not going to help with fat loss.

I gine say um again and again. You need to do resistance training, heavy resistance training. Now if you have never lifted weights in your life, I am not telling you to go and do that. You will risk injurying yourself. What I am saying is that you need enough stimulus to encourage your muscles to grow.

Muscle is a metabolic organ that will keep the fat off of you and will keep you toned. Even if you don't have extra fat on you, it is still needed. So if you are slim but feeling frail, you need muscle too.

Due to the reducing levels of estrogen (this helped us to build muscle), it will be be harder to build muscle, hence why again, you need to heavy resistance training.

If you still like your cardio, still do that but make sure that resistance training is now the Queen.

If you need help figuring out how to lift heavy, feel free to respond "Queen" to this email.

Freedom. Happiness and Balance
