I never dieted but I did something different...

Hola

Over the years I have been asked by women what diet I follow. When I reply none, they are surprised but yet intrigued. I either tell them directly or say "I follow the same principles that you and I learnt in reception/kindergarten"

Sometimes it puzzles them then a bright light goes off. The magic question then comes. Do you mean eating vegetables, protein, fruit, complex carbs and some good fats? Ding ding ding! Yes those basics. It is nothing fancy. This tried and true approach works everytime. Every quality nutrition certification that I have taken like Precision Nutrition, this rings true.

Now I know it goes deeper than that. You might have a sweet tooth and that in itself will be a tough hurdle to get over. You might be very stressed out which will impact what you eat. However, change is possible and it goes beyond following a meal plan.

So again, try with the basics. Forget about counting calories, change your relationship with food.

And if you're late 30s or in our 40s, definitely up the protein. And no, one chicken wing ain't cutting it.

P.S If you need help to improve your eating habits and ditch the diet for good, feel free to reply 'Ditch It' and we can go from there.
