Why change feels so hard

Dear ,
"I'm 80% sure that I want to start coaching with you... I'm just worried I won't get the results I want."
This is a very common conversation I have on discovery calls. And I get it, because many of us are weary— we've tried so many methods, googling and youtube-ing and trying to speak with confidence and yet, it feels tiring, inauthentic, or just not hitting the mark.
Deep down, there's a part of you who wants to grow. You want to step into rooms assured of your expertise. You want to create content that feels powerful and aligned. You want to network with effortless charisma.
But when the opportunity arises— you default to your fight, flight, freeze response. These often look like:
- fight: repeating reasons in your mind that hold you back, i.e. "I've tried I just am not cut out for this"
- flight: you run away from things you want to do by making yourself busy
- freeze: you keep quiet and play it safe, which later results in you feeling disappointed and upset with yourself
We're not afraid of failure. We're afraid of what we make failure mean about us. We're afraid of being at the mercy of our negative thoughts.
For many of the clients I've worked with, they've tried so many methods to overcome their challenges in speaking up and advocating for themselves. They've tried, "failed", given up, and then went back to trying again. This cycle goes on and on until they are so sick and tired of having to recreate the momentum, that they end up building shame, disappointment and resentment when it comes to using their voice.
They come to me feeling weary but clinging on to the last bit of hope that there is another method they haven't tried.
But it is not about the method. It is your mindset and how you speak to yourself when you don't get the result you want.
When you fail, you spiral down into self-doubt and disappointment. It all adds up. It is no wonder you feel tired and uninspired.
My response to clients is this: I cannot guarantee you success, because nobody can. What I can promise you is that you'll learn how to feel safe in your body. You'll see failure and rejection differently. You'll respond instead of react. You'll learn how to hold space for your negative thoughts. You'll practice skills and thought processes that help you speak with groundedness and confidence.
Most importantly, you'll change the way you think about yourself. And that changes everything— from the way you speak to the way you connect, lead, and market.
True confidence and magnetism is not having zero negative thoughts. It is learning how to manage them when they do come up. And that changes everything.
I'll love to invite you to my upcoming webinar, we'll learn how to speak up and show up with true confidence and magnetism.
I'll be collaborating with BE on a FREE Webinar this Thursday evening, and you're invited!
