Hey my favorite ones!

I’ve been busy in all areas of my life, but finding time to write despite myriad distractions. The cutest distractions of all are our two kittens! We picked them up last week from a friend’s barn and we’re trying to convince them to love us. I haven’t taken a clear photo that doesn’t have my kids in it, but I’ll try to share soon. They are darling. Unfortunately we let my son name them šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø so they’re called Snowflake and Bill.

Did you miss ā€œThe Pool Boyā€?

In case you missed it, don’t forget to download my new mailing-list-exclusive story!

Elliott’s pool boy, Clay, is back from college, and he’s all grown up—built, beautiful, and charismatic. Elliott can’t help lingering next to the windows when Clay swims. He can’t help imagining Clay working him up and tying him down. A fantasy is harmless, right?

Last chance to read Undertow for free

At the end of the week I’ll be pulling down Undertow so I can begin revisions, but for now it’s available in its imperfect-first-draft entirety! For those who haven’t checked it out yet, it’s an mm fantasy romance with some kinky power imbalance as well as pirates, magic, krakens, and a semi-sentient ship. At about 105,000 words, it’s also the longest book I’ve ever finished. You can read the whole thing on my website until this Sunday!

The next newsletter serial

As you know if you’ve been reading my emails lately, it’s time to choose the next newsletter serial. 🄳 For Undertow, you voted on specific genres and tropes. This time, I slated a ā€œpilot seasonā€ for you, where you could preview five stories and cast a vote for the one you’d like to read week-by-week in your email inbox. You’ve been sending in your votes all month long, and this is the final week for those who haven’t chosen a favorite yet. Night & Day is still in the lead, but it’s not too late for one of the others—The Term, perhaps?—to close the gap!

Vote in the pilot season

Several of you have asked if I will one day write the books that aren’t chosen. The answer is maybe! Right now all five of them are very vivid in my mind... I deliberately chose them from my ever-growing idea file because I know that I could write any one of them if they were to win the vote. But the resonance of certain ideas can ebb and flow for me over the years, so it’s hard to say whether each and every one of these will come to fruition.

What I’ve been reading and writing

I haven’t found time this week for anything more than reading my own words as I draft the second edition of Jaywalking, which will be roughly double the length of the original novella, as well as Burning Season, book three of the Wild Ones series. I’m getting very excited about both of these books and it’s been hard to tear myself away from my keyboard!

Speaking of Burning Season...

Sweat, Leather, and Lipstick

In just a week you’ll be able to download ā€œSweat, Leather, and Lipstick,ā€ and get a sneak peek of the Burning Season main characters on the night they met. I wrote the story for the MM Class of 20/21 Giveaway that starts June 1. This exciting event will include the stories of a dozen amazing new voices in mm romance.

If you haven’t met any of the Chase men yet, you have plenty of time to start with Long Winter, the story of Robbie and Lance. The romance between Robbie and Lance reaches its happy ā€œendingā€ in Signs of Spring, but they’ll continue to be an important part of the series. ā¤ļø
