Working from Home:
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many of us to work from home. If you're a small business owner or self-employed individual, you may be eligible for tax deductions related to your home office expenses. Make sure you're keeping track of your expenses, including your internet and phone bills, home insurance, and mortgage or rent payments.
Cybersecurity:
As more and more of our lives move online, cybersecurity has become an increasingly important concern. Small businesses are particularly vulnerable to cyber attacks, so it's important to take steps to protect yourself. Make sure you're using strong passwords, keeping your software up-to-date, and backing up your data regularly.
Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs):
TFSAs are a great way to save money and earn tax-free investment income. If you haven't already maxed out your TFSA contributions for the year, now is a great time to do so. The annual contribution limit for 2023 is $6,000.
