Did you have a good July? Hope you managed to stay cool! I finally have my own AC unit and it's been saving my life... along with that, some pretty interesting things have been happening behind the scenes.

~ 🏡MOVING DAY🏡 ~

My wife and I have found a new house and we'll be moving next month. In fact this is probably the last newsletter I'll be writing before the move. We'd really like to stay at our current home, but it is in need of such drastic repairs, some which would be extremely costly, and so finding a better house was just a financially better decision...

So in case I'm suddenly very quiet/inactive throughout the month of August, you know what's going on!

Been meaning to work on the graphic design aspect of my portfolio more, so I'm exploring logo design a bit, which I hadn't done since college.

Eyes of a Stranger

A quick doodle of some long overdue original art! Inspired by the song "Eyes of a Stranger" by Queensryche, a lot of my original work is inspired by the music I'm usually blasting through my speakers as I draw.

Blazblue Poster Update

Making great progress on my big Blazblue project. I should be able to finish it by November, which will be the 10th anniversary of the latest game in the series, Central Fiction, my introductory game to Blazblue overall.

Another highly requested character, Piccolo from Dragon Ball Z! I'm recording this for my next Speedpaint video, so keep your eyes open on my socials for the link!

Condemnation

The latest in my Blazblue art grind, here's Tsubaki Yayoi! I also created an alt of the art in which Tsubaki is transformed into her dark form that debuted in Blazblue: Chronophantasma. While writing this newsletter I even finished a wallpaper/game mat design for her!

Kidd Bandit Shark Sticker

A new sticker design inspired by a story I was told at Popcon Indy, regarding a trans Japanese wrestler named "Kidd Bandit" who used an IKEA shark plush wrapped in barbed wire during a deathmatch battle.

The Light Inheritors - Commission

A commission featuring characters from Fire Emblem (I get a lot of those nowadays...), specifically the 4th entry, Genealogy of the Holy War. The composition was inspired by the cover for Dragon Quest 3.

~ 🪴GARDEN UPDATE🪴 ~

My wife's garden is looking spectacular! I took some photos, but they really don't do justice to their majesty much like seeing these in person. The cornstalks were taller than me by the 4th of July! We're seeing cucumbers, blackberries, and zucchini starting to grow as well!

We even had royalty come to visit, and did she enjoy her time! This butterfly hung around by the flowers in the front outside the window for over an hour. We're hoping she ended up laying eggs! (We also had a hummingbird visit but I couldn't snap a picture of it, as it left too quickly...)

~ 💭MISCELLANEOUS THOUGHTS💭 ~

• Slowly getting back to working on story stuff. My main project right now is updating my ref sheets (as well as removing any spoilers in character bios!) and then eventually uploading my works to my website.
• Working to complete official render art for all of the main cast of OCs, as well as finish new tarot card artwork.
• Future characters I'm hoping to draw: Death (Puss in Boots: The Last Wish), Red Arcueid (Melty Blood), Darth Vader (Star Wars)...
• Applying to more small, local shows like craft fairs and markets to make up for the disappointment of Popcon, and the need to save funds for the house.
