Howdy, !
It has been the most well-balanced week I've had in regular life for a while yet! That's probably because Melbourne has been on flood watch all week after torrential rains meaning a lot of social events were delayed, but more on that below...
As always, a shameless request! Could you forward this newsletter to just 3 people that you think would like one of the articles? It helps A LOT! If you're the friend reading this, click the link below to join! Glad to have you here!
Week in the life
The week began after the long drive back from Shellharbour in the rain and more downpours later in the week in Melbourne that lead to the Maribyrnong river bursting it's banks just a few days ago. That's not too far from where I live, thankfully we were unaffected by any flooding. Hope where ever you're reading this, that you're safe and sound...
One thing I've noticed since the holiday a few weeks ago is that I've been much more calm, even when tired from long-ish days. That's continued on to this week where normally, I'd be a bit cranky. That just wasn't the case at all this week even as we had some complicated cases and late finishes at work...

Creative update
randInt S02E15 - Long time, no talk
Well, look at that! After a bit of an unexpected hiatus given that we just couldn't find time to record a podcast, we're back with a brand new episode! This time, it's a catch-up and a half!
What random things have happened since last time? Listen on to find out...
Gadgets/Tech
I think I've mention the levitating planters for a while now, but it looks like they also are starting to make a version of the levitating light bulb lamp. I have the version by Flyte which was the OG one that's super expensive, but this looks like it does an identical job for far cheaper!
Other gadgets/tech
- Dji Mini 3 pro - Current favourite drone. It's tiny but got the job done in Greenland!
- Kindle Scribe - Ebook reader and general writing pad with weeks long battery life. I want!

The Notorious Photoshop Troll And His Victims Who Surely Regretted Asking For Photo Edits
Something a bit more light-hearted this week.
This article shows the requests that someone who is an expert at Photoshop receives and how he misinterprets the requests to create some hilarious edits. Some of them are genuinely laugh out loud funny. Enjoy!

Size of all the economies of the world
I love a good data visualisation and this channel has some pretty cool ones. This one takes you through the smaller economies of the world and end up with the largest near the end. Since each is represented by a circle of the same size when it appears on the screen, it's pretty incredible to see just how big a large economy is compared to a small one.
Quote I'm pondering
“No amount of evidence will ever persuade an idiot”
— Mark Twain
I tend to like the sister quote more by Derek Sivers which I shared ages ago which was "If more information was the answer, then everyone would already be a millionaire with six-pack abs" but the sentiment is the same really.
In a world that's drowning in more information, that doesn't necessarily lead to the change you're looking for or the correct change at all for that matter. It's been that realisation that people are far more persuaded by story than fact that's lead to the recent book recommendations on here about storytelling and partly why this newsletter/podcast and more exists.
My thought was this: there's a lot of misinformation but also good information that isn't really promoted well. I definitely am not a great producer of such things but maybe, just MAYBE, I could curate the good stuff for people. And here we are.
With that, I'll leave you for yet another week.
Take care!
