A Slight Detour and Thanksgiving Gratitude
Nov 02, 2023 9:37 pm
I hope this newsletter finds you well and thriving. Can you believe it is only three weeks until Thanksgiving? The weather here has definite fall overtones. It's a busy time of year for all of us, and I wanted to take a moment to share some updates from our end, reflect on recent events, and express my gratitude.
A Slight Detour: The Trip That Wasn't
As some of you may know, my husband, Tim, and I had been eagerly preparing for a trip to the mountains last weekend. We looked forward to a few days of relaxation and adventure, but sometimes life throws unexpected curveballs. We encountered an issue with the tail/turn/brake lights on our 1982 Scotty Serro just as we were about to embark on our journey. After working on it for 90 minutes, we reluctantly concluded that the trip wouldn't happen. While disappointed, we were grateful to discover the issue before hitting the highway, potentially preventing a dangerous situation. As they say, safety first!
Busy Times and Thanksgiving Reflection
On the work front, my plate is overflowing with projects. I'm immersed in a substantial document creation project spanning around 2,000 pages, tending to my regular client work, and managing several intense end-of-the-year projects. I am incredibly fortunate to have top-notch equipment to help me meet these demands and a very patient and supportive husband who understands the occasional work-related chaos.
Thanksgiving and Gratitude
I always love to take the month of November to reflect. I've been contemplating the idea of gratitude. In light of our recent travel hiccup, it's a timely reminder that there's always something to be thankful for. We might not always get what we planned, but we can choose to appreciate the blessings that surround us.
To delve deeper into this topic, I dove into my blog archives and reviewed a blog post titled "Is Today Your Last Day in Business?" In this post, I asked:
"Do you operate your business with gratitude, as though today may be your last day in business?"
I invite you to read the post and share your thoughts. I believe that practicing gratitude in our personal and professional lives can bring about profound positive changes, and I would love to hear your insights.
Your Thoughts Matter
Your feedback and comments are always valued and appreciated, so please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to foster a community of shared ideas and experiences. I loved hearing from several of you last week. Please reply to this email or leave a comment on my blog post. I review them all with joy and anticipation.
Grateful and Blessed,
