honestly, that Astra demo shook me a bit

Hey ,

I was sitting at my desk this week watching the new OpenAI Astra demos, and I just had to take my hands off the keyboard and breathe for a second.

Seeing an AI jump into Blender, rig a 3D asset, throw it into Unreal Engine, and wrap up an entire pipeline in seconds… it was wild.

And a little unsettling.

I think a lot of us in the creative space have been comforting ourselves with lines like "it's just a tool" or "it can never replace real art." But let's be real with each other for a second-the ground is genuinely shifting beneath us.

AI isn't going anywhere, and the industry we got started in isn't the industry we're standing in today.

For the longest time, our value was tied to the grind: how fast we could cut on a timeline, tweak lighting, or master a piece of software. But when software starts running itself, being "good at the tools" isn't enough to keep a career alive anymore.

I'm not saying this to freak you out.

I'm saying it because I refuse to watch brilliant people get caught off guard.

The machines can execute, but they don't have our stories.

They haven't lived in our skin, felt heartbreak, understood local culture, or figured out how to sit with a client and pull an authentic vision out of thin air.

That human gut instinct, that taste-that's the only real moat we have left.

That's honestly why I'm so restless about this year's event.

When we were all jammed into CC Hub last year, the energy was incredible because we were finally talking about the real stuff. But this year, the question isn't just "how do we grow?" It's "how do we stay relevant when the playbook is being rewritten overnight?"

That's what The FUTURE Creative is about.

I don't want us guessing in isolation or worrying in private. I want us in one room, comparing notes, learning how to position ourselves, and figuring out how to build businesses that actually survive this transition.

If you've been feeling that quiet pressure about where your work fits into tomorrow, come sit with us. We need to have this conversation face-to-face.
