Day 17

Dec 26, 2023 7:01 am

Hello, Productive .

Develop systems for organizing your physical spaces, including files, documents, and emails.

SORT.

Sort Into Categories.

Begin by categorizing items in the space. For instance, if you're organizing a closet, group clothes by type (shirts, trousers, dresses, etc.).

PURGE.

Declutter.

Go through each category and decide what to keep, donate, or discard. Be honest about what you truly need and use.

ORGANIZE.

Assign a Home.

Designate a specific spot for each category. For example, all shoes go on one shelf, and all books have a designated shelf.

LABEL.

Label.

Use labels or markers to identify where each category belongs. This helps you and others maintain the organized system.

CONTAIN.

Containment.

Use containers, bins, shelves, and drawers to keep items within their assigned categories. Clear containers can help you see what's inside easily.

MAINTAIN.

Regular Maintenance.

Schedule regular tidying sessions to ensure items are returned to their designated spots. This prevents clutter from building up again.

Remember, the key is simplicity and consistency - K.I.S.S. Avoid overcomplicating the system, and make sure to involve others (ask for help from those) who share the space so that everyone can contribute to maintaining the organization.

Your task today is to write out each step in CAPITALS on cardboard and stick it where it’s visible for when you want to organize your physical space.
