Hi there

Can you believe it! June and the first half of the year has really flown by, and we are officially moving into peak New York summer.

Did you get to explore some hidden neighborhood secrets in NY or your neck of the woods last month?

How has your start of summer turned out to be?

There are so many things that make NYC great.

And stepping into July, there’s plenty to continue that journey of exploring, discovering and treating New York as our own backyard.

July being a peak summer month it can be the best time to explore local neighborhoods, rooftop pop-ups, and waterfront breezy activities and indoor cool events and places

Below are some cool ideas & *important info

*Due to extreme heat emergency there will likely be a lot of event cancellations so be sure to double check before you head out also some helpful/valuable info below. Please stay the cool person you are by keeping hydrated ;) while venturing out the rest of this week.

*NYC cooling centers are opening 7/1 due to forecasted high temps and heat indices. Older adults, people with health risks, and those without A/C should plan ahead. Call sites to check hours.

Find a center: nyc.gov/beatthehheat  or call 311.

*NYC Parks outdoor pool hours will be extended until 8:00 p.m. at Olympic and intermediate-sized pools from Wednesday, July 1 through Saturday, July 4. Visit http://nyc.gov/parks/outdoor-pools  to find a pool near you.
