3 ways I've helped myself grow in the last year...

Howdy,
In the past year I've made some very tough decisions that, although scary, ultimately helped me grow and reconnect with myself.
Here's what I wrote about my experiences (click the images to read the full pieces):
It's been over a year now, but ever since I joined Medium's member program, I've discovered there were things I didn't know I could write about.
This piece explains the three lessons I learned that I wish I knew when I first started. They apply to much more than just writing on Medium.
- Set attainable goals.
- Your profile matters more than you think.
- Honesty has a real impact.
WHY I NO LONGER SPEAK TO MY MOM
This piece is less about my relationship with my mom than it is about how relationships with parents can become unhealthy and unsustainable.
The takeaways:
- What trauma looks like in parents.
- How trauma is passed down.
- Why putting distance between you and family is OK.
And finally, good old weed.
I started smoking it regularly when I went to college. It made me feel paranoid and numb. In the beginning, I liked that. Now I hate it.
Last December I quit weed and since then I've started doing 9 things instead.
Those 9 things include:
- Exercise.
- Plant medicine.
- Feeling my emotions.
This week's writing prompt: What's one habit you want to quit? What's stopping you?
That's all,
Nick
P.S. Exciting announcement coming soon!
