How I got a best-selling author on my podcast...

Hi friend,

Last week I interviewed best-selling author Erin Tyler on my podcast.

And all it took was ONE email.

There are 3 elements to the email:

  1. Start with an offer.
  2. Share your story and mission.
  3. End with the ask.

Maybe you don't have a podcast or a platform that you can have guests on. But this works for more than just guests.

If you want to intern somewhere or find a mentor, all it takes is offering something of value to them (a product review on Amazon for guests, a solution to a problem they don't know they have for internships/mentors) and sharing why you are interested in them.

The best part is that MOST rejections won't feel like rejections, because they will either be too busy to read your email or they'll let you down gracefully.

If you're interested in listening to my conversation with Erin, here are a few of the topics we covered:

  • How to overcome fear when writing or publishing (or putting yourself out there in any way, really).
  • What scapegoating is and why it's one of the most insidious forms of abuse.
  • Why telling the truth is one of the most noble things you can do.

This week's writing prompt is about truth.

What's one thing you don't want others to find out about you? What do you fear will happen if they do?

Thanks for reading,

Nick
