If I was a superhero with mad powers, Imma tell you right now... Whichever governments/countries needed my assistance...I'm expecting financial compensation.
All these heroes risking lives for free are stupid. The police don't do it. The firefighters don't, the military doesn't. Doctors don't or politicians. Everyone is getting paid with benefits except Superheroes.
I'd give a freebie display of my powers. After that, don't expect me to show up for free.
And I'll tell you why even more:
Ppl don't appreciate heroes like they should. Always complaining:
The ppl: "The city got destroyed because of you!"
Me as a hero: "And yet so many of you are still alive to bitch about it. You're welcome."
Ppl : "that building collapsed because of you!
Me. "Because an intergalactic alien through me through it. Do you want to know what that feels like? Keep talking shit!"
Ppl: "Ppl died!"
Me. "And so many are alive because I saved who I could. I didn't bring Gorgog here, he just showed up out of nowhere to take over the planet. You could all be Gorgog slaves right now, but you aren't. You're welcome!"
So, nope. I ain't trying to be risking my life, getting yelled at, having ppl blame me for shit out of my control, and still expect me to show up for nothing. I'll be damned if I can't afford my rent/mortgage, eating Ramen noodles and bread sandwiches because my finances are suspect. Due to me having poor job attendance and stability.
Pay. Me. For. My. Services. Plain and simple.
