Let's hear from our New Classics Author, Jan May!

It's hard to find wholesome reading for our kids these days. Crazy things are happening in the world today, but God’s faithfulness remains constant.

Years ago, God encouraged me to write stories that lead children toward a stronger faith in Him. God wants our children to know that His strength and provision are available to them no matter what. This is why I created the New Millennium Girls series. These are the girls of this New Millennium, with real challenges, who will stand in the furnace of trials and proclaim, “My God is bigger! I can trust in Him.”

Isabel’s Secret (featured New Classics book) is for girls 8-11-years old. It is the first book in The New Millennium Girls’ series. The main character is 11-year-old Isabel Morningsky, who lives with her parents on Angel Ridge Ranch. All she wants is to win a local horse race, but she finds herself at the center of a family controversy that could pull her away from her family’s ranch. Why is Grandmother Biltmore intent on taking Isabel away to Boston? This question threatens Isabel’s future.

As the trouble deepens, Isabel reminds herself that “Winners never quit and quitters never win, because I serve the mighty God that lives deep within,” (her oft-recited maxim). Isabel holds on to her faith, seeking God’s help when facing difficult decisions. And yet, this young heroine isn’t a Pollyanna. She shows spunk and determination, as well as a willingness to do what is right even when events don’t go her way. The end will leave readers wanting more.

With fast-moving, engaging prose, an interesting mystery, and spiritual themes, Isabel’s Secret would make a delightful read for any eight-to-eleven-year-old girl.” ~ Author and Award-Winning Journalist, Meadow Rue Merrill
