Howdy fam,
What's happenin'? It's been a busy month over here at Never Come Down Inc. In the past four weeks, we played a festival near Carson City, NV for the Northern Nevada Bluegrass Association, the Bluegrass and Butterflies festival in Elkton, OR, a concert series in Mount Shasta, CA, and several other shows in and around Oregon. We've been getting around!
Lillian has been raving to us about going to Chili's for months - there are no Chili's in Oregon so when we were in NV we had to make a stop!
We even managed to get into the recording studio last week for a few days so keep your eyes peeled for new music from us on your favorite streaming platform and on our Youtube. Big thanks to Brud Giles at Fremont Recording and Joe Sanchez over at EasyFolk Media for capturing all the sights and sounds this past week.
Fret not though! There are still opportunities to see us perform and even teach before the majority of our touring ramps down for the year. Peep some dates below:
9/26 - 9/28 Tygh Valley, OR - Tygh Valley Bluegrass Festival
10/4 Portland, OR - Taborgrass
10/5 Portland, OR - Artichoke Music Benefit Concert
12/12 Berkeley, CA - The Freight w/My Dog Jack
We're very proud and honored for the band to be teaching at Taborgrass in October which is organized and put on in part by our resident mando expert Kaden Hurst. So come on out and learn some fiddle, mandolin, do some singin', whatever suits your fancy! Registration is in the link here.
In a similar vein, we're also pleased to be participating in a benefit concert to support Artichoke Music. Artichoke has been serving the Portland metro area offering low-cost musical performances and instruction to the community for over 50 years and they need our help to keep going. You might have noticed that Taborgrass takes place at Artichoke. We'll be joined by our friends in Fog Holler, Thunder Ridge, and more. It'll be a great night of music from some of Portland's finest musicians. This one's not on our website so if you're interested you can find tickets here.
There'll likely be a few more shows that pop up spontaneously between now and December, so make sure you're following us on Instagram/Facebook, checking the website, or just keepin' up with the newsletter if you wanna stay current.
Take care all and we'll see ya on down the road.
Peace, Love, and Hominy
