they were nimble and they wore wigs

Howdy folks,
How are you doin'? Ya'll holding up okay? We're doing pretty alright! Feeling grateful to be experiencing a nice balance recently of being on the road, gigging, and having nice chill times at home. We've been visiting with family and friends which has been very healing and rejuvenating. Usually the summer is such go go go there's not a lot of time to do that. We've also been playing some local shows which have all been really FUN. Big thanks to all you folks that have been coming out - it's been really nice to see those familiar faces at our shows looking back at us. We love ya.
A few years ago we were invited to teach and perform at the Nimble Fingers Bluegrass & Old-Time Camp up in Sorrento, BC, but unfortunately because of the Bush Creek East fire in 2023, it needed to be moved last minute a few hours westward to the Agassiz Speedway. That was a lot of fun but it was also a major disruption to the whole event so when we were invited back again earlier this month to experience the real sha-bang at the Sorrento Centre we were beyond excited. For some of us, this was our first time teaching at a camp where you have a small group of students and you work with them for several hours a day for several days in a row. Challenging stuff. Damn proud of this band. Everyone did a fantastic job and it was an utter joy to get to connect with the students and the other instructors there. By the end of the week we were crying from stage and yelling, "Can we just stay here and not go home?" The capstone of the week took place in the Kekuli dome the night before the final day of festivities, where Crystal broke out her wigs and got almost all of the instructors to participate in a "wig jam". Some of these folks might need to reconsider the hair choices they've been making, just sayin'.

I could gush endlessly about how much fun and how amazing Nimble Fingers was but I will end it here and leave you with our big takeaway from the week: we might need to start our own camp...
We've got some really fun shows were looking forward to through the end of the summer. We'll be heading down to N. California this weekend to play in Mt. Shasta and Monterey and then we'll be back up in Portland at Mississippi Studios in Portland next Monday, 7/28, with our buds in Tall Poppy Stringband. Really looking forward to that. You'll also be able to see us in Colusa, California on 7/31 at the Levitt AMP. Last but not certainly least, our buddy Chris Baxter from Under the Rocks band is hosting a new festival called Baxter Fest in Enderby, BC on 8/8. Really, really stoked to get back up there and hang with our new Canadian friends and fam. Check out our full summer schedule below.
