Welcome to the First Issue of The Rework Dispatch!

If you’ve ever thought about starting your own business, you’ve probably faced moments of doubt and uncertainty. The fear of the unknown is part of the process, and it’s something I want to be real with you about.

In this first issue, I’m sharing the early concerns I had before taking the leap with ClearShift. Maybe some of these thoughts will sound familiar to you, whether you're just starting out or thinking about making a move in your own business journey.

The Leap I Took: Early Concerns Before Starting ClearShift

When I first thought about starting ClearShift, I had a lot of questions running through my mind. There’s always that uncertainty before taking the plunge, and I found myself facing some of the same concerns that anyone would have before starting something new. I wanted to share those early thoughts with you, not because they were easy to overcome, but because I think they’re part of the process. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re ready to take the leap into your own business, maybe this will resonate with you.

1. Is there a real market need?

I remember asking myself, "Is this something people actually need?" I wasn’t sure if ClearShift was solving a real pain point or if I was just creating a platform no one would use. Would hospitality establishments embrace it? Would professionals find enough value to make the switch? These are questions I had to work through before deciding to move forward.

2. Will people trust me?

Trust is everything, especially when you’re building something that handles transactions and connections between people. I was concerned about whether anyone would trust a new platform. Would they believe in what I was offering? Would they feel confident enough to use it? The responsibility felt heavy.

3. Am I ready for the responsibility?

I knew running a business would be demanding. The weight of managing everything—developing the platform, ensuring quality service, handling customers, and making decisions daily—felt overwhelming at times. Could I juggle it all? Was I ready for that kind of responsibility?

4. Am I making the right decision at the right time?

Timing is everything, and I kept wondering if I was jumping into this at the right moment. Was the market ready for a platform like ClearShift? Or should I have waited longer? That uncertainty can freeze you in place if you let it.

5. What if I fail?

This is the big one, isn’t it? The fear of failure. What if it doesn’t work? But here’s the thing—failure doesn’t have to be the end. It’s an opportunity to learn, to grow, to adjust. The real question was, "Am I willing to risk failing in order to build something meaningful?"

Taking the leap wasn’t easy. It took time, research, and a lot of self-reflection. But the most important thing was making the decision to go for it, even in the face of uncertainty. And here we are today, on a journey that’s still unfolding.
