Hi ,
I'm sorry I've been silent for so long. I hope you are doing well.
Sunday is a special day for me. It marks the 25th anniversary of my father's passing. I lost him to suicide five days shy of my sixteenth birthday.
As the years passed, I noticed suicide and mental health are topics that are very current, but it's almost taboo to talk about them. And funnily enough, talking is the first step to healing.
When I first wrote The Songs of You and Me I delved into Jackson’s past. He got to tell his side and how Ainsley’s choices affected him. I never felt I could leave her tale untold. Each story always has at least two sides to it.
Why does a person make such horrible choices as Ainsley did? What drives them to such selfishness? And does a person like Ainsley have it in her to redeem herself?
My dad made the choice not to fight and right the wrongs in his life. It not only ended his life; it impacted many other lives.
Ainsley’s story is my way of showing you what can happen when people who make mistakes decide to try and do better. Because everyone deserves a second chance to right the wrong and start over again.
I always wrote The Songs That Brought Me Back to reach out to others struggling. Over the years I've had readers message and email me, telling me their story. It's wonderful to reach out and share love and healing.
I have once again decided to share The Songs That Brought Me Back for free on Dec 4th only. So be sure to pick it up and/or share it with someone you think might need it.
Here is a pic you can copy and paste to use on your social to share the word.
Or you could share the book trailer
Thanks for hanging around, and I promise once life slows down, I will have some new stuff to publish. I am working on some new stories, but my time is limited at the moment as I'm taking care of my mother and attending to some other responsibilities.
Lots of love,
M
