Hi ,
I’m on holiday this week. So I promise to send you a new chapter next week, once I’m home again.
I’m actually in Cyrus right now, and I can’t believe how hot it is here. I even burned my feet. Whew.
On the up side, I got to see Aphrodite’s rock, and swim in the sea where she supposedly was born in the foam of that sea. I visited the old ruins in Paphos where Paul was tied to a pillar and whipped by the people for preaching Christianity.
And tomorrow we will visit the Blue Lagoon and go snorkeling there.
I decided to start a new Kdrama, as I have time to just relax and not worry about too much this week. Which was very much needed. Last week nearly did me in. My daughter ended up in hospital. I can’t believe the streak of bad luck our family is having at the moment.
Anyway, the drama I’m watching right now tells the story of a fishing town and all the heartache of the people living there. It shows the weight people carry and is not visible at first glance. It got me thinking. We really don’t have a clue as to what people are lugging around in life.
A simple smile might mask a boatload of heartache. Although the story has started off slow, there is much to be said about the many layers of each character’s story. I’m very investing in finding out what is going on in their respective stories.
Great storytelling is all about the layers really. Peeling them back and giving you a bit more to the person and his or her background. Why do they tick the way they do?
What show or series have you recently been so invested in? Hit me with a reply, I could use a good recommendation.
Also, today the new adaptation of Persuasion releases. I love Mr Darcy, but I
have always loved the heart aching story of Anne and Mr Wentworth. And Henry Golding as Mr Elliot?
I have high expectations. Have you seen this adaption?
I hope you are enjoying your holiday wherever you are. Have a great week, and speak to you next week.
Lots of love,
M
