As you can tell, the News Monkey showed up late again today, but with enough prodding (beer & bananas), he cranked one out. (You're reading it right now!)

The big news today, as for the past 18+ months (I stopped counting), is COVID.

It's overwhelming hospitals across the country and some states are beginning to talk about "hospital system failures."

I'm no public health expert (I'm betting you aren't, either), but this sounds... bad?

Like, if your local hospital fails, goes belly up, closes its doors, fires its people, where will you go when you have a legitimate health emergency?

You know, unlike the hoax that COVID is... fuck.

It would be terrible if you had a heart attack or got COVID and had nowhere to go but H E A V E N.

In other news, Rand Paul is worse than he appears to be. He wants to PROFIT off COVID and its victims. Here's a little bit to really piss you off this morning:

Rand Paul reveals in late financial disclosure that his wife bought stock in company behind Remdesivir in February 2020

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky revealed Wednesday that his wife in February 2020 purchased up to $15,000 in stock in Gilead Sciences, the maker of the antiviral drug Remdesivir.

Remdesivir later became the first drug to be approved for treating Covid-19. Paul's filing with the Senate shows that between $1,000 and $15,000 of Gilead stock was purchased.

The STOCK Act — which was enacted in 2012 to outlaw congressional insider trading, or the use of nonpublic information for one's financial benefit — requires trade disclosures within 45 days. Paul's reporting came 16 months late.

Gee, maybe now we know why Rand Paul doesn't want people wearing masks or getting vaccines: He wants them to get COVID so his “wife's investment” earns some gainz.
