Darwin always wins

Hey!
Happy Thursday! I think you're going to like today's Morning Sixpack. It's not as down & dire as they have been in the recent past.
But hey, it's dark because it's news and good news is hard to come by.
Except for today. Earth Day. TIL how Earth Day got its name. It's linked to an ad man who made Timex watches ubiquitous.
Man, I so wanted a Timex watch (it takes a licking and keeps on ticking after they did some horrific shit to that timepiece)! When I started earning my own income, instead of poaching off my mom, I bought one.
And I was happy.
Earth Day, celebrate her.

Darwin ALWAYS wins!
WHELP, that didn't turn out as he planned…but Darwin knew.
Obituary: Hans Kristian Gaarder. On April 6th he died — aged 60 — of COVID.
That's where the story should end. But NOPE.
Hans didn't believe COVID was serious. While he wasn't a stupid American, he was a stupid man. He often said that COVID was like the cold or minor flu. That it probably didn't even spread among people. That mask-wearing and social distancing were put in place to hide the real agenda.
Oh, he also was an avid Trump supporter.
Anyhoo, he had a couple big parties at his house, got COVID, and died. THAT is the story.
Wear a mask. Social distance. Get vaccinated. And don't be a dick like Hans.

Make it a great (Earth) day!
