I don't mean to be a downer (it's just my nature - a combination of skeptic, pessimist, and realist to the nth degree), but damn, can we ever rid ourselves of the coronavirus?

The Olympics are going swimmingly. Ha! Swimming, apparently is in full swing. I haven't been watching but I bet a lot of people have been watching the festivities. There's an impending typhoon headed their way.

Mother Nature is also doing her sweet magic in NorCal - the two giant fires have merged into one, wreaking havoc over thousands and thousands of arid land.

A sandstorm in Utah:

At least seven people were killed in a 20-vehicle pileup during a sandstorm Sunday afternoon, Utah Highway Patrol said.

The crashes happened on Interstate 15 near the town of Kanosh, according to a news release. Several people were reportedly taken to hospitals in critical condition. Ground and air ambulances were used to transport crash victims.

The pileup occurred during a period of high winds that caused a dust or sandstorm which reduced visibility, the highway patrol said.

Okay, okay. We get it. You're mad that we plundered the planet. We'll stop now.
